My name is Sarah, I am 19 years old. I live in the south. I am starting school soon to major in Psychology and a minor in Computer. Recently I became a moderator, that does not mean I will be to busy for people, it just means I am going to take a little more time getting back to you for social things.  So please understand.

~~A Word From A Moderator~~

As you may know, I am one of the newest moderators. As you may know as well, I am the youngest. I am 19 years old. I grew up in the 90s and I was 10 when y2k came around 11 when 911 happend. I have been through elementry school, middle school and high school, not to long ago I might add did I graduate from high school and I plan on going to college soon. I have a boyfriend, I went through many boyfriends to get to this one that I treasure. I was teased in school, and I teased back. I was in fights in school, I didnt do so hot on some of my test, didnt always do my homework but I made it through alive. I have been through all that. What I am trying to say is just because I am, well we are, all of the moderators are people just like you and we arnt robots out here bossing you around or here to serve you. We are here to help you, we choose to make this site safe for you. We didnt have to, we could have sat by and let it happen but we didnt, we wanted to make this site safe for the kids that play it. We do not get paid, we do not get much appreciation, the reason we do this is for you. I have seen alot of disrespect to some of the nicest moderators on here and I must say I am disapointed in it. The least you could do for us is give us some respect.

~Tip~
Okay, you might not know it but external links are against the site rules. What does that mean? It means any picture or text that leads you out of divadolls to another site is against the rules. The way to unlink your image or text is very simple. Above you see your toolbar correct? With your font options and such, well there are two things there labeled insert/edit link and unlink. Unlink looks like a broken chain. Simply click on your image and click that broken chain and there you have it. Your image is link free and it doesnt break that rule.

If you're reading this because you're having difficulties with other players, or you've seen something that requires attention from a moderator, please follow these steps.

1. Don't fight back. The rules apply to both parties of fights so even if someone else starts the fight if you are replying with profanity, hate speech, threats or anything else that breaks Acclaim's rules then your account can be banned as well.

2. Make a screen cap. There needs to be actual proof for us to do anything. Use prt sc. to take a picture of whatever it is and then save the picture so you can send it to us if it's needed.

Moderators are not above any of Acclaim's rules. We will never ask for your password or any personal information. We will not take your side just because you contacted us first, we will look at all of the evidence and the appropriate steps will be taken. We do not make up arbitrary rules. If we have contacted you it is because there is a rule being broken.

We are not here to answer questions about the game. The forum (Message Board) has answers to everything from how to get votes, to how to make friends, and almost everything you could possibly want to know about the game. Despite our fancy modness it also does not mean that we are actually magical. We have lives to live, dates to go on, classes to attend and other things to do. We are not here every second of the day and though we do our best to deal with problems as quickly as a possible we can't solve everything right away.

When  a lot of you signed up, no doubt you just clicked past the page of rules. "Who cares?" you think. Then you argue with moderators that swearing and abuse are not agains the rules.

Also, I can not tell you how much I DO NOT care about whatever excuse you have to tell me about why its on your page "I DIDNT KNOW! I COPIED IT FROM SOMEONE ELSE!" or "I DIDNT READ THE RULES, HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW?" and I really dont wanna hear "but other people have it too!" It will go quicker if you just do what I ask.

If you do contact me for something, anything, whatever it may be. PLEASE do not talk lke ths i cnt rd ths. Please try your best to type correctly where I can understand you instead of having to ask you to repeat yourself. I am not asking for perfect grammer, I do not have that, but you are not texting me, you arnt in a big hurry, if you are I promise it does not take 1 second to type talk instead of tlk, and it will save more time by saving me the trouble of asking you to repeat that. Also do not send me a message that says "she did something mean to be ban her" I have recieved complaints like that, no kidding. In detail say "-Divas username- is -which rule is being broken-" and better yet, take screenshots of it, if they curse at you in a note, take a screenshot and send it to me through my email. To do that, just contact me and I will tell you how if needed.

Finally, a quick piece of advice, swearing at mods is never a good idea. That is the fastest possible way to get banned from the game.

Dealing with abuse.

The most important thing when dealing with abuse from another player is DO NOT reply to them.
You need to gather proof of the abuse, and forward it to a moderator.
If the abuse is on your main page as part of your gossip, you can contact a moderator and they will help you. DO NOT DELETE the abuse. We need to see it.
If the abuse is in your Notes section, you will need to make a screen capture of the abuse before you contact a moderator. The moderator will then tell you where to send the screen capture.

How to make a Screen Capture.
If you are using a computer that is running Windows:
1) Make sure the MyDivaDoll window is the top window and the abuse is clearly visible on the screen.
2) Press and hold the "alt" key on your keyboard. Press the "Print Scrn" key. This key is in a group of three keys to the right of the function keys.
3) Open "Paint". This is a Windows program and will be in the accessories section of your windows programs.
4) Select "Edit" from the top menu of Paint, then select "Paste". This will put your captured image on the screen. If the Paste option is not given, you did not capture your screen. Go back to step 1).
5) Select "File" from the top menu of Paint, then select "Save As..." Type in a name, then set the "Save As Type :" option to "JPEG".
6) Note what folder you are in, and change it if needed. Click on "Save".
7) You now have a screen capture that can be emailed to a Moderator.

Dealing with hacking.

To be helpful we need as much information as possible. Information that is needed includes: Your in game account name and what exactly happened. "I was hacked" isn't enough information, explain exactly what happened. If you've given your password out, or you use a shared computer or received any strange messages or have been asked for your password, that needs to be included too. If you have screen caps of any strange requests you've gotten that would be useful as well. Groundless accusations do not help, if you or your friends have a really great idea about who the hacker is because some account is claiming to be the hacker remember that they might have been hacked as well.

Who are you to tell me what I can put in my shine section?

  We are all moderators for MDD which means we are here to moderate the boards and the game to make sure that the rules are being followed. If you need convincing you can wait for your account to have it's shine section removed or just wait for your account to be banned, but it would probably be better if you just follow the rules.

You can't tell me what I can do!/I have freedom of speech!/This is a free country!

In short, we can, you don't, this isn't. It's true that you have the right to say what you want in many other places, this is not one of those places. This is a family friendly game run by Acclaim. Since this is a game being run by Acclaim they get to make the rules. There is plenty of things you can write about on your page but you cannot use Acclaim pages for whatever you want. When you signed up to play, you agreed to follow any rules acclaim has, and by signing up, signed your rights over.

Stop and think before you add something next time. If it isn't something you wouldn't want someone in your family reading, or something you couldn't show to all your friend's families then it shouldn't be on your page. Or even more simply, if it isn't safe for children's tv, it's not right for this site.


Are you a hacker?

No. We're mods. We can change your page without your okay, but we only do so in accordance with the guidelines and rules set by Acclaim.


I'm against kitten abuse you can't stop me!

Despite what you might think the mods aren't actually pro-kitten abuse or any other kind of abuse. Random, mostly fiction, stories involving graphic violence don't stop anything though. They might give ideas to abusers, but they won't stop them or help anyone being abused. Survivors don't tend to, on the whole, really appreciate stories with abuse in them either.

I'm going to tell DivaSarah on you!

DivaSarah isn't actually in charge of moderators, so you can tell her but she's not going to step in and defend your "right to break the rules" or whatever you think she'll do for you. If you've been contacted for having something you think should be allowed then you can politely appeal to us. We aren't perfect we might have made a mistake, it isn't likely though.

If the thing you think we have made a mistake about is one of the following you won't be getting very far with us.

Violence - This includes references to abuse, suicide, cutting or any gratuitous gore
Profanity or hate speech
Drugs (illegal or otherwise)
Scams
Claims of being a celebrity (valid or otherwise so don't bother to say that you're the real whoever)
Inappropriate sexual content


What's wrong with vote for me contests?

Firstly, they aren't contests. They're scams. Let's assume that you're running this scam for ten days. On the first day one person enters, that person is going to win. The second day you spam more people and two more people enter, those are going to be your second and third place winners. You continue to spam players over the next few days and by the tenth day the person that started on day one has had the chance to give you 2 votes for ten days, the person who joined on the last day has had no chance to catch up to the first player.

It would be like having a car race with a speed limit and then starting each driver at different times.

Of course if someone has multiple accounts then the scam is even more unbalanced since that player can only be beaten if someone started with the same number of accounts before them, or with more accounts after them. The person holding it doesn't let the people they're inviting to join know that though. They just cheerfully invite people to join a contest without telling them that they only had a chance of winning if they started earlier, or if they have a bunch of accounts. There are also only two types of people that take part in these scams, those that have figured out how the scam works and are set up to take advantage of it, and those that haven't realised it's a scam and have no chance of winning.

The person that gets the biggest benefit is the operator. They could have a 'Whoever leaves me the most comments wins. The rules are you can only leave a maximum of two comments a day per account" contest and the winner would be the same, but that doesn't result in extra votes.


I wasn't asking for passwords to break the rules, I was just being helpful!

Asking for passwords is against the rules since sharing giving away your account is against the rules as well. Since stealing accounts is the only other thing you could do with someone elses passwords, you were breaking the rules not being helpful.


I'm not the only with !

That might be very true, but that doesn't change the fact that you're breaking a rule. It just means that other people are breaking it too, and that we'll be getting around to messaging them as well.


What's wrong with chain letters?

First, chain letters that threaten you with bad luck unless you pass them on or promise you good luck if you do are all fakes. Always. Chain letters with sad stories in them, or inspiring stories, are fake too. Always. That chain letter about the missing kid, also a fake. The email about Bill Gates handing out money, also fake. The reason why real things aren't forwarded around like chain letters is that there are so many fakes that no one would take them seriously if they did. So whatever really really interesting or scary or inspiring or whatever thing you have read and now want to take part in is actually a lie. There are lots of interesting ways to figure out why what you've just received is a lie, but that's it.

Second, they're annoying. Unless the person you're sending them too has a giant "send me chain letters" message then you're just spamming people, most of whom won't appreciate your kind and considerate spam.

Third, very simply because they are against the rules. You don't get to make the rules, we don't either.

Password swapping is against the rules, it does not matter if you are giving the account away or redoing the account, it is against the rules.
